A new player has entered the game: Dirk Scholing
'You need a specialist' is one of the guiding principles of The Invaders. That’s not only advice we propagate, but also a standard we hold for ourselves. Therefore we are proud to announce that Dirk Scholing has joined the extended team of The Invaders as Game industry advisor.
Dirk Scholing is an expert when it comes to gaming and mobile tech. He has held several Country and Regional Director positions at companies such as T-Mobile and Electronic Arts (EA), and helped them build new business for the gaming and telecommunications industries. Dirk also served as a board member of the Videogames Federation Nederland (VGFN) and the Video Games Federation Belgium (VGFB), where he contributed to advancing and representing the gaming sector in stakeholder campaigns.
So, who’s Dirk Scholing?
“I see myself as a Game & Technology expert with over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and gaming industries. I have a strong background in marketing and sales, specializing in assisting companies at the convergence of gaming and digital distribution. Currently, I work with the start-up Mission:Control and I provide strategic guidance to the Invaders team, helping shape their gaming strategies and marketing campaigns.“
Dirk has a proven track record of delivering innovative and impactful brand campaigns and winning value propositions that resonate with consumers across multiple channels and digital platforms. With his knowledge, experience,and passion for the gaming industry Dirk will be a valuable addition to The Invaders. As an industry advisor at The Invaders, he will leverage his expertise in sales, partnerships, brand marketing, business development, influencer marketing and help brands to unlock the value of gaming.
Why The Invaders?
“The Invaders is one of the few agencies that creates beautiful and impactful campaigns targeted at gamers. During my time at game publisher EA, I worked on many campaigns aimed at gamers and young audiences. I would like to use my expertise at The Invaders to help brands reach this gaming audience, which can no longer be reached through traditional media.”
Which trends or developments in the gaming world are you currently following with great interest?
“The convergence of PC, Console, and Mobile is an important step for the gaming and media industries, as it enhances quality and platform independence. Additionally, games have become a media platform in themselves, where gamers come together to play and communicate. Many brands recognize the value of creating campaigns in and around games. This will also shape the future, as companies aim to be where their target audience spends most of their time.”

"Colin Macrae Rally 98. I played it too much; I even dreamt of the game."
Do you still game, and if so, which games are you currently playing?
"No, not so much anymore. So now and then FC or old FIFA games with friends. But I have already been challenged to enter the in-house FC competition at The Invaders, so I will have to start practicing again."
What is your favorite marketing campaign within gaming?
"All PlayStation campaigns connected to the Champions League partnership. Player First principle. As a natural person you are part of the game or vice versa (the last one).
