Whether you are doing crime in GTA or participating in an illegal street race in Need for Speed, the police in games are often portrayed as the antagonist. They stand between you and your goals. In real life, it is the opposite. The police are there to help you and keep our community safe.
It's time to Give a Nod to the Mod!
The gaming world has its own peacekeepers: moderators. Just like the police, mods mostly work behind the scenes to protect communities, making gaming safer, more fun, and fair. Yet, they rarely get the recognition they deserve. With Give a Nod to the Mod, we helped bridge this connection, highlighting the vital role moderators play and giving moderators the appreciation they deserve.
We showed that the police is your ally. Offline and online.
Our quest for appreciation kicked off at TwitchCon in Rotterdam, where thousands of gaming enthusiasts gathered to celebrate their shared passion. This community thrives thanks to moderators, so the police were there with the NodBox to acknowledge their contributions. Gamers left shout-outs to their favorite mods, showering them with well-deserved praise.
Giving moderators their chance to shine
Next, we took things a step further. Together with Martin Verschoor from Power Unlimited and Malek Kariebo from Gaming with the Police, we dropped in on popular streamers StreamwithLien, Morrog and Jeremy Frieser to surprise their moderators. Finally giving the mods their chance to shine and tell the viewers about their work.
Creating an alliance
Through an extensive content campaign gamers not only got to see the importance of moderators, but also learned about the important work of the police. We showed that the police is your ally. Offline and online.
